One of the best things about summer is the amazing array of fresh fruits, veggies, and herbs available in abundance from the garden (and growing wild in the fields & forests too!) With so many ingredients at their peak, it’s the perfect time to experiment in the kitchen. Seasonal produce can inspire refreshing drinks, delightful main dishes, divine desserts, zesty condiments, and more.
The recipes below celebrate some of my favorite flavors of the season, including ideas for seasonal produce like blueberries, blackberries, cherries, peaches, cucumbers, and zucchini, as well as plenty of fresh herbs.

Blueberry Basil Popsicles
Two summer favorites, blueberries and basil, come together in this cooling, sweet treat. Basil adds herbaceous notes that enhance tart, fruity blueberries for an unexpected, but delicious flavor twist that will be enjoyed by kids and adults alike.

Lemonbalm & Cucumber Agua Fresca
This refreshing blend of lemon balm and cucumber is a simple, tasty way to stay hydrated during the summer months. Sip a glass on the patio or serve it at a summer barbecue.
My Herbal Electrolyte Drink and Linden Lemonade are also great drinks to enjoy during the hot summer months.

Cherry Cardamom Old Fashioned
An Old Fashioned is by far my favorite cocktail, and you’ll find a few unique iterations on my blog. This version combines fresh cherries and cardamom, two flavors that pair perfectly with whiskey, making for a delightful summer cocktail.
You may also enjoy a Goldenrod Old Fashioned, another of my favorite summery versions of this classic drink.

Tulsi Chimichurri
Tulsi Chimichurri is one of my favorite ways to showcase tulsi’s unique flavor profile. It’s super tasty and perfect for sprucing up eggs, roasted vegetables, grilled meats, salads, and so much more! My family also loves slathering it on quesadillas or arepas.
This vibrant sauce is a twist on traditional Argentinian chimichurri, an herbal condiment typically made with parsley, oregano, garlic, red wine vinegar, and olive oil, that is usually served with grilled meats.

Zucchini Baba Ganoush
Zucchini baba ganoush is a fresh take on the creamy, smoky Mediterranean dip that’s traditionally made with eggplant and is a tasty accompaniment to pita bread or fresh veggies. It comes together quickly and easily, making it the perfect summertime appetizer or potluck dish.

Blueberry Salsa
This blueberry salsa is a fruity version of the classic Mexican salsa, pico de gallo. The bright flavors of lime and cilantro, compliment the blueberries, making for a delicious condiment that pairs perfectly with tacos, tortilla chips, quesadillas, and so much more!

Cherry Barbecue Sauce
Fresh summer cherries make a delicious barbecue sauce that’s a perfect accompaniment for grilling. This Cherry BBQ Sauce adds rich, vibrant flavor to chicken, pork chops, pizza, or wraps.

Blackberry Hot Sauce
This hot sauce is bursting with summer flavor. Juicy, tart blackberries and bright cilantro combined with fresh jalapeños make for a delicious spicy condiment you’ll want to put on everything! It goes great with tacos, quesadillas, and eggs. It also makes a great accompaniment to charcuterie boards. Stir it into cream cheese to make a flavorful dip that pairs perfectly with tortilla chips for a simple summer appetizer.

Lavender Peppercorn Crackers
If you visit a lavender farm this summer or are lucky enough to have a plant growing in your garden, you may find yourself wondering if there’s anything you can make with this aromatic plant other than sachets and self care products.
Though not a very popular culinary herb, lavender has a wonderful, unique flavor that can be enjoyed in a variety of recipes. I love adding it to drinks, but also find that it’s a delicious addition to baked goods, like these crackers.
Lavender Peppercorn Crackers are easy to make and come together with a few simple ingredients. They can be enjoyed on their own or paired with cheese or dip. They also make a unique addition to charcuterie boards.

Zucchini Fritters
If you have more zucchini than you know what to do with, these crispy zucchini fritters are a tasty way to enjoy the abundance. Eat them on their own or paired with a creamy sauce like this Mint Yogurt Sauce.

Chamomile Vinaigrette
This simple vinaigrette is a lovely way to infuse your summer salads with the flavor and soothing spirit of chamomile. Tangy and floral, it pairs beautifully with fresh greens and seasonal herbs.
