Herbal Bug Bite Paste

Summertime means more time outside, which also means more bug bites and stings, unfortunately. This herbal bug bite paste is made with just a handful of ingredients and is quick to whip up to help ease itching and discomfort.

Linden (Tilia spp.) is rich in mucilage, which is soothing for irritated, inflamed skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties reduce redness and swelling, while its gentle astringency helps ease discomfort. Linden is also a gentle herb that it safe for kids and sensitive skin.

Green clay cools the skin and reduces swelling. When used topically on bug bites and stings, it helps to draw out insect saliva and venom, which cause pain and itching. Lavender essential oil is an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and soothing addition.

Combining these three ingredients in a paste is a simple remedy that can help bring relief.
