Butterfly Pea Salt

One of my favorite ways to work with herbs is to incorporate them into my food, and I especially love adding them to condiments and seasonings. This herb infused salt combines brightly colored, health boosting butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea) flower with salt for a seasoning that is both beautiful and beneficial to overall vitality.

Butterfly pea flowers are rich in anthocyanins, which give them their vibrant blue color. These compounds also have many health boosting effects, including reducing inflammation, improving memory, and easing anxiety & insomnia, and promoting overall brain health. 

It’s super simple to whip up this pretty seasoning. Use as a finishing salt on a variety of dishes for an extra special touch. Cute little jars of blue salt also make a great gift.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sea salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp butterfly pea flower powder

Directions:

Add the sea salt and butterfly pea powder to a small bowl and mix until well combined. Spoon into a jar for storage.
