Mama Libélula is a celebration of a simpler way of living—one rooted in herbal wisdom and a close connection to nature. Here, I share whole-food recipes, folk remedies, and DIY home + body care to inspire healthy, mindful living.
Meet Kristine

I’m a mama, folk herbalist, holistic doula, and budding botanist with a background in Creative Writing and Permaculture Design.
My work has been featured in Botanical Anthology, The Wild Family Guide, Beauty in Bloom, The Essential Herbal, and on The Herbal Academy blog.
When I’m not writing, you can find me concocting herbal potions, experimenting in the kitchen, photographing plants, hiking in our eco-sanctuary.
Roots

Where it all began…
Mama Libélula has its roots in the woods, meadows, dunes, and organic farm fields of Southwest Michigan. It was the beauty of these spaces and the plants that thrived there that initially sparked my love of herbalism and interest in a more natural way of living.

I founded Wild Blossom Herbals as a budding herbalist back in 2014 with the goal of offering beautiful, safe alternatives to conventional body, home, and health products. While many of these original formulations have evolved over the years, the crafting & creating I did during this time continues to inspire my work to this day.

In 2015, I co-founded Augusta Creek Permaculture forest garden & farmstead in a small town nestled in the countryside in Southwest Michigan with my friend, Matt. The site has since been sold (and the new owners have since cut down all the fruit trees, ripped out the medicinal herbs and have planted a lawn instead), but the beautiful moments and the lessons I learned during my time there continue to live on in my heart.

These days, I live with my family on an off-grid homestead high in the Ecuadorian Andes. You can find out more about our project, Sierra y Cielo, here.
