Method
- Add the pine needles to a small pot. Pour boiling water over them and cover the pot with a lid. Let steep until the liquid has cooled.
- Strain out the plant matter and return the pine needle infusion to the small pot. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened a bit.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let the barbecue sauce cool. Store it in a clean, glass jar in the refrigerator.
